Shoring and Excavation works procedures

  • Based on the required dimension, the shoring works shall be executed by stages 6.0 m / 12.0 m in length based on the excavator type and site condition.
  • Excavation should be done for all the area up to 1.20-1.50 m in depth from the ground level.
  • Setting (1) Box by the beams on the ground level and one more box at depth -1.20-1.50 m from the ground level including vertical beam at the box corners with proper welding or using steel hooks as a connection between the frames each other.
  • Once the two boxes are been welded, the trench sheets should be installed between the two frames with little tack welding with the first box and for safer, one more beam should be behind then trench sheets during the installation as a guide beam for easy installation and to prevent any movement for the sheets.
  • After installing all the sheets, the excavation should be started for 1.20 to 1.50 m extra by the excavator and manual if required with taking all the precautions during the excavation if there is any existing utilities or cables.
  • After the excavation will be ready, another steel frame should be fixed with the vertical beam/steel hooks (based on the required depth) , then remove the tack welding and pushing the trench sheets to the invert level of the 3rd frame or to little bit more.
  • Start the same procedure (Excavation, fixing a new frame and pushing the sheets) until reach to the required shoring depth.
